FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Let's talk about what you can expect before your first appointment.

  • Do you accept insurance?
ERA is an out-of-network and self-pay clinic. This means you can use your out-of-network (OON) insurance coverage or pay for services without going through insurance. You will be provided a superbill to submit to your insurance provider if your coverage includes OON benefits. Depending on your benefits, you may be eligible for partial or full reimbursement of your appointment costs In this treatment model, quality comes first. Each session will be direct, one-on-one care focused solely on you! You will never split time with another patient..
  • Do I need a doctor's referral?
Nope! Well, sort of.. You do not need a referral/prescription for the first visit. The state of Georgia allows patients to be seen by a physical therapist without a referral for 21 days or 8 visits. This is known as direct access. However, there are certain interventions, such as dry needling, that do require a referral/prescription, so it is good practice to obtain one if possible. ERA is happy to help you find a top-tier doctor from our network of quality providers if you do not already have one.
  • Can I come to ERA even if I’m not an athlete?
Absolutely! While we specialize in working with rotational athletes, our approach to movement, strength, and injury prevention applies to anyone looking to move better, recover from injury, or improve physical performance. Whether you're a weekend warrior, an active adult, or just want to feel better in your daily life, you're welcome here.
  • What should I expect during my appointment?
Your first visit will begin with a comprehensive discussion about your issues, concerns, and goals. After that, one of two things will happen. A sport-specific examination to pinpoint problematic areas A detailed orthopedic examination to identify the source of your symptoms and the contributors to the issue. Following your examination, you will receive an overview of the findings and a recovery strategy. This may include active exercises and hands-on treatment. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you have about your care plan.
  • What should I wear to my appointment?
Athletic clothes that are comfortable. To put it more simply, please wear what you would typically wear to the gym. This includes appropriate footwear that allows you to move well; sandals or slides are not recommended. Since you'll likely be exerting some effort, comfort is key. Additionally, it's advisable to wear loose-fitting clothes so the area that is being treated is accessible.
Home Run

"Keith has incredible knowledge, empathy and persistence. He does a great job listening and figuring out the best approach to each client’s specific issues. I know this because he has worked with my entire family and we all have seen him for different problems. Whether it’s been structural issues, recovering from knee or back surgery or just “tissue issues” that won’t go away. I can’t recommend him enough! The best there is."
